Our WWII Japanese Type 99 pressure test rifle is an exceedingly rare original. Manufactured in limited quantities by major rifle factories, it served Japanese ammunition facilities to assess rifle cartridge chamber pressures. The method involved compressing a copper cylinder between the upper and lower pistons during firing, with the degree of compression determining pressure levels. Ours retains its original reinforced chamber with a cone at the receiver’s forward end, but unfortunately does not have its pistons.
