In 1944 the Allies tried to leapfrog to Germany and end the war quickly. The plan was to secure bridges with Airborne Troops to open the way for the armed divisions. The plan failed at Arnhem at what was called the Bridge Too far. The 9th and 10th SS divisions were at Arnhem retrofitting unknown to the Allies. This helmet is representitive of what those troops would wear
